Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks is working on a change to its fishing regulations that would bar anglers from fishing the East Gallatin, a mellow, cottonwood-lined river northwest of Bozeman, from boats. Anglers have mixed views about the change, with some arguing it will protect an important spawning tributary and others arguing that the department needs to do more to demonstrate why the shift is merited.
