Environmental groups argue in a lawsuit filed on Aug. 8 2025, that Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks is failing a constitutional obligation to manage rivers for the benefit of the citizens of Montana. The lawsuit comes as iconic rivers such as the Blackfoot, Clark Fork and Big Hole hit or approach record-low flows.
