Citing its commitment to gather more information on the proposal’s impact on grizzly bears, wolverine and bull trout — all of which are federally protected under the Endangered Species Act — the U.S. Forest Service sent a letter to project opponents on Friday saying it won’t move forward with the Eastside Forest and Habitat Improvement Project until consultation with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is complete.
