A new proposal in the Department of Public Health and Human Services 2023 legislative package would eliminate the Board of Public Assistance. For about 70 years, the board has heard appeals from people who are denied benefits such as Medicaid, TANF, and SNAP, but it is in the crosshairs now amid Gov. Gianforte’s efforts to reduce government red tape.
