Several bills still alive this legislative session aim to increase the number of health care workers in Montana, the fourth-largest state by land area. Proposals would formalize the role of community health workers and allow Medicaid to cover the service. Other ideas include interstate compacts to recognize licenses issued in other states for certain health care providers.
